The (personal) travel diaries of 50 somethings who aren't dead yet!
Pigeon Forge For my birthday in 2023, Chris bought me tickets to Chill Fest – a music festival where one day is tribute acts. He knew I’d love to see “George Michael”. Boy was he good, second only to the real thing. Well until he said ‘everyone jump’ and i did, popping my knee ligament. But that just gave me an excuse to hang on to the front barrier for the rest of the gig! But while we were there, “Dolly Parton” was also performing. I don’t mind a bit of Dolly, but i probably wouldn’t have bought a ticket to see her. But then she was amazing. Brilliant songs, and very funny with it.
So when we had to find a stopping place between Wilkes County, home to Moonshiners and Nascar, and Nashville in Tennessee, 250 miles worked out to be around Pigeon Forge. and DOLLYWOOD! We just had to go there We’re going to the Dolly Stampede and Dinner, and the anticipation is building a i even write this! .Not only that, we might take in the Xtreme Go Cart racing. Just what every 50 something with a dodgy knee needs. There’s a Denny’s and Waffle House near by, so we are all set for a really great time. I really can’t wait!
